DESTIGMATIZING DEPRESSION
It is time to improve the detection and treatment of major depression in primary care settings

In a study at John Hopkins University, 14.3% of people over 65 were correctly diagnosed with depression. Additionally, 75% of them took medication such as Lexapro, Prozac, and other antidepressants incorrectly.

The main reason for multiple wrong diagnoses is non-fully trained professionals. Medical Staff are underresourced and overwhelmed.

No one realizes the dangers

This medication can cause harm to people who truly do not need it. If we successfully decide that they do not have depression, we will be improving their health as well.
